FAQ
What is a PDB file? This is a database file for the Palm
handheld organizer. You will need a database program of some kind to
read it; I use JFile.
You can download a demo version of JFile for free; it is fully
functional except that it can have only one database.
How do I download the PDB file to my Palm? Save the
orycon23.pdb file (above) to a folder on your desktop computer. Start
the Palm Install Tool (on my Windows 2000 machine, it's Start / Programs
/ Palm Desktop / Install Tool). Press Add, select the orycon23.pdb
file, press Done. Synchronize your Palm.
What is a CSV file? This is a text file with the same
information as the PDB file, in the form of Comma-Separated Values (one
record per line, with fields delimited by commas). This form can be
imported by many databases and spreadsheets. Use this file if you want
to put the program database on a handheld device (or any other computer)
that doesn't understand PDB files.
If you have any other questions, or any problems using the files -- sorry
Charlie, you're on your own. These files are provided to you for free and
are explicitly without support of any kind. Hope you find them useful,
though!
