OryCon 23 at a Glance..................................................... 64
Welcome to OryCon 23! Yet again, the usual suspects have been
drafted… err, volunteered to bring this convention together. Registration and Pre-Reg are in the Main
Floor Lobby of the hotel. Fan Tables
and Volunteers are in the same general area as the Registration tables. Artifacts are there somewhere, too. We encourage you to visit the Volunteer
table often, as you can win valuable prizes!
J Refer
to the Volunteers section below for details.
Upstairs is where a lot of the regular panels will
occur, in the Klamath, Santiam, Wilson and Nehalem rooms. The Dealers’ Room is also up there, as well
as the Music programming.
Downstairs, you’ll find the Art Show and the Gaming
programs. For role-playing games not
taking place in the Gaming area, you will still need to sign up there to
participate.
The
Interstate Wing (entrance right next to Registration) is where the non-panel
OryCon rooms are located (although Nestucca has panels, and it’s down there,
too.). The Fan Room, the Green Room,
the Internet Café and the Office are all on the first floor of the Interstate
Wing. Go to the Office if you have
someone that needs to register after Registration Table hours. Lost & Found is also in the Office, as
well as Security.
Have a great Con!

times, so please be patient. 7:00am –
Midnight Thursday, 7:00am to 1:00am Friday & Saturday, and 7:00am –
Midnight again on Sunday.
Brickstone’s
11:30am – Midnight Thursday,
11:30am to 1:00am Friday & Saturday, and 11:30am – Midnight again on
Sunday. Still good food, nice atmosphere.
Quiet
Bar
Will be available for general
Lounging and quiet conversation. Check
the Daily ‘Zine for hours.
Here
Be Dragons. Where be Volunteers?
Yes, it’s that part of OryCon that you knew would be
coming. Each year there is a core of 20-30 people who work all year long to get
OryCon started, but without Volunteers at OryCon we could not do the job.
You
ask, "What’s in it for me?" Well, there are prizes that are usually
donated by the dealers and other attendees of OryCon, but the biggest reward is
know that you have contributed to the whole and made OryCon much more enjoyable
for everyone. In other words you know you have made a difference.
We will be holding our drawing Sunday afternoonish.
"How do I get entered into the drawing?" you ask. Well, it is fairly
easy. For each hour you Volunteer, you will receive a raffle ticket. These
tickets are then all thrown into a pot and drawn on Sunday afternoon. In
effect, "The more you play the better your chances."
If you are interested in Volunteering in a specific
area or department, let us know and we will do our best to make it happen. We
know your time is Valuable, and We thank you for donating it.
